The presidential election and its impact on economic freedom

Four years ago, I was honored to share why I was supporting then-candidate Donald J. Trump on the stage of the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. My Dad, a U.S. Army veteran and small business owner, was proudly in attendance. Speaking before those at the convention and on television, I described my family’s history as small business owners. Those who come from small business families share a similar story of working hard with deep dedication to family and love for America. These small business families and their employees are dealing with the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. As we…

Treason

Dear Editor, We are unceasingly deluged with descriptions and images of cities being destroyed piecemeal by organized crowds of sanctioned and protected thugs who, completely unopposed, riot, loot, burn and destroy the property and businesses of hard-working, productive, taxpaying citizens. As outrageous as that is, the same closely directed mobs are defacing and destroying public buildings, blocking highways and tearing down monuments. These cowardly wannabe warriors are bravely attacking innocent, inoffensive and frail elderly people on the streets. If these sorts of activities were being committed against our citizens and our country by uniformed foreign troops, it would rightly be…

Herber drug plea pending; Ziilch sentenced in arson case

KINGMAN – A Monday hearing in Kingman may have persuaded a Bullhead City woman to enter a plea agreement rather than take her drug case to trial. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert told Margaret Herber, 44, that she is facing a 27- to 57-year prison term if she is convicted of all pending charges at trial. The proposed plea deal, however, mandates an eight-year prison term for Herber. She told her attorney at the end of the hearing that she would like him to schedule a change of plea hearing. Herber already has a felony drug conviction and…
