Vaughan convicted of sex offenses

KINGMAN – A Kingman man convicted of sex offenses involving young males faces life behind bars. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Amanda Claerhout says tough punishment under Arizona law requires imposition of mandatory life terms plus additional years in prison for 28-year-old Alexander Vaughan.

A Mohave County Superior Court jury deliberated more than three hours last Thursday and Friday before finding Vaughan guilty of six counts of sexual conduct with a minor. The panel was convinced that the state met its burden for convictions on allegations that Vaughan began engaging in sexual activity with boys under the age of 15 starting in 2010.

Judge Doug Camacho scheduled a Jan. 2 sentencing hearing for Vaughan.
