Unique fundraiser hopes to raise $10,000 for Salvation Army

Raising $10,000 for the Salvation Army and having a whole lot of fun is the goal of a unique fundraising event coordinated by the Kingman and Golden Valley Association of Realtors. Board member Dawn Brannies said organizers are looking for sponsors for the Oct. 19 Rocky Horror Picture Show event at the Brenden Kingman Cinemas.

“We have two sponsorship levels, one for $250 and one for $1,500,” Brannies said. “That will get some advertising, a banner, the theater lobby and then any other promotional stuff we can do on social media for them.”

Anyone interested in sponsorship opportunities can call Brannies, 928-279-3706, for details.

It’s the interactive audience component that has helped the Rocky Mountain Picture Show achieve cult status.

“The audience dresses up in the costumes that the characters wear in the movie. We’ll have some prop-packs that we’ll be selling before the event at the movie theater,” Brannies said. “You can pull a script online, and the goal is to take the movie literal and then rearrange it a little bit so the audience has its own script.”

Brannies said it is expected that all 154 theater seat tickets will be purchased for $25 each. They are available at the Association of Realtors on Kino Avenue, Kingman Premier Properties, Diana’s Wine Cellar and at the cinema at 4055 Stockton Hill Road.
