KINGMAN – Easter flavored family fun unfolds Saturday, March 22, at the St. John’s United Methodist Church (UMC) in Kingman. Everyone’s invited.
“We decided that we didn’t want to do a fall festival like so many other churches and organizations do. We wanted to give our community something to look forward to in the spring,” said UMC Pastor Amy Kalm. “Our Spring Fling is an opportunity for people to experience trunk or treat Easter style.”
Kalm said an Easter bunny car hop will feature vehicles decorated as Easter baskets from which children can enjoy treats. Organized age-separated egg hunts will also take place.
Kids can enjoy bounce houses, balloon artists, carnival games and more. There will be dance and fencing demonstrations and other live entertainment, including music performances by Victor Deprater and others.
Pastor Kalm said the event is not a fundraiser or congregation recruiting tool. She said it’s instead all about outreach, engagement and community unity.
“There’s lots of things right now that might cause us to feel divided, but let’s join together and let’s have a time we can just be people together and not have to worry about anything else,” she said.
The Spring Fling runs from noon to 4:00 p.m. at UMC, at 1730 Kino Avenue.
