LAKE HAVASU – Three Lake Havasu City residents had their criminal matters resolved during hearings last Thursday at the Mohave County Courthouse in Kingman. The harshest punishment came in three drug cases involving Michael-Shawn Boultinghouse, 37.
Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle sent Boultinghouse to prison for 8.5 years. He was convicted of 2 narcotic drug related counts in a plea agreement that dismissed a mix of other charges.
Prosecutor Amanda Claerhout said Boultinghouse possessed singed foil with heroin residue when arrested in December, 2018 at 3101 London Bridge Road. She said Boultinghouse two months later sold 1.5 grams of heroin to a confidential informant at his home in the 2100 block of Barranca Drive.
Boultinghouse was also convicted of a dangerous drug offense in the third case for possessing more than a half gram of methamphetamine at the same home in March.
Judge Carlisle imposed a 2.5 year prison term in a separate prosecution of Krystle Roberts. The 30-year old was convicted of possessing dangerous drugs in 2018 and was serving probation when she got into trouble again on May 26.
A series of events led Roberts to become involved in a scuffle with police. Her attorney Matthew Argyle said officers indicated Roberts was babbling nonsensically and appeared to be under the influence of drugs when she threw rocks and kicked at an officer.
“She was punched several times,” Argyle said, conceding Roberts was the aggressor.
Prosecutor Morgan Carstensen noted an officer suffered a fractured hand in the encounter.
Another Lake Havasu City resident escaped further jail time during her sentencing hearing. 42-year-old Krystal Graff was convicted of a reduced charge of facilitation of possession of dangerous drugs for sale.
Defense attorney Nathan Best said Graff was not directly involved in drug sales but engaged in communication and acted as a go-between for her former boyfriend, Michael Wain, 41 and those who purchased drugs from him.
Wain is serving a five year prison sentence. Graff was placed on probation for three years and released from jail Thursday after Judge Billy Sipe imposed a two day jail sentence, and crediting her for previously serving those days in custody.
