Teen sex could bring prison

Michael Guardado

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man admits having sex with a teenager and striking a male adult with a metal pole. Michael Guardado, 23, pleaded guilty Friday, Dec. 15 to aggravated assault and another charge reduced to attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Leah Nelson said Guardado was 21 years old when he was involved in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl from Jan. to Aug. in 2022. She said the defendant assaulted another man with a six-ft.-long pole on Aug. 31, 2022.

Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen accepted the plea deal. Guardado is eligible for probation when sentenced Jan. 17, but also faces the possibility of up to 8.5-years in prison.
