BULLHEAD CITY/LAUGHLIN – The Clark County Fire Department held a unified command with the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service on the 63-acre fire along the Colorado River between Laughlin and Bullhead City that occurred last week. The large brush fire created smoke that could be seen for miles but did not threaten structures. This fire was finally brought under control with the assistance of helicopter drops from nearby Arizona BLM aviation resources.
LAUGHLIN, Nev. – August 2 was the 58th anniversary of the now-famous Riverside Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. Starting from humble beginnings, the Riverside Casino was the brainchild of Don Laughlin for whom the township of Laughlin is named. Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo recognized August 2 as Don Laughlin Day.
LAUGHLIN, Nev. – CASA Council will host a charity golf tournament to benefit foster children on Saturday, Oct. 28 beginning at 8 a.m. at Laughlin Ranch Golf Club. Entry fee for the four-person scramble is $85 per person and includes green fees, card, and lunch. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place as well as individual male and female closest to the pin, and male and female longest drive. LAUGHLIN, Nev. – The Edgewater Event Center will host “A Night at the Opera” for one showing only on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. The show will feature performances by tenors, baritones, and sopranos who will perform numbers from Phantom of the Opera, Madame Butterfly, Les Miserables, and La Boheme.
