Pub Crawl to benefit MCC Foundation

KINGMAN– Mohave Community College (MCC) Foundation is hosting a Back to School Pub Crawl on Saturday, Aug. 24. Tickets are $20 per person, and can be purchased at helpmohavestudents.com. The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. in downtown Kingman.

There will be a costume contest; dress as our favorite schoolyard trope. All proceeds go to supporting MCC and its students. For information cal 866-339-7226.

Registration open for Citizens Academy

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is holding its next Citizens Academy this fall, where city residents can take part in a seven-week program to learn more about city services. The Citizens Academy will begin on Wednesday, September 25, and will run through November 6, with sessions held from 6 to 9 p.m. The deadline to register is Thursday, September 12.

Ayala  enters plea for role in armed bank robbery

KINGMAN – The wheelman in a Kingman bank robbery has entered a plea agreement that will send him to prison for nearly a decade. Christopher Ayala, 49, California pleaded guilty Aug. 8 to robbery and unlawful use of means of transportation.

Terms of the agreement require Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle to impose a 9.5-year prison term at a Sept. 5 sentencing hearing.
