Boom Box Parade; A Bullhead tradition

BULLHEAD CITY – “Celebration in a Snow Globe” was the theme for Friday’s 26th Annual Boombox Parade hosted by Colorado River Women’s Council.

Hundreds of Bullhead City residents lined Hancock Road in Bullhead City last Friday evening starting at 6pm for the 26th Annual Boombox Parade, an oddly named celebration of the season started 26 years ago by the Council and carried on as Bullhead tradition ever since.

Hundreds turn out for Holly Jolly Christmas Bazaar

BULLHEAD CITY – Last Saturday Murphy Broadcasting and Mohave Community College in conjunction with Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse hosted an all day Holiday Bazaar for folks looking for those special gifts for loved ones this Christmas season. The event ran from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and hosted a wide variety of vendors offering those unique holiday gifts, treats and specialty creations.

The Murphy Team said that nearly 150 attendees stopped in during the day-long event that filled the floor and lobby of the Fieldhouse offering every manner of treats and eats, bounce houses and face painting for the kids

National Night Out event boasts huge crowd

BULLHEAD CITY – A massive crowd showed up this year for the annual event that brings local emergency and civic agency organizations out to meet and greet the public they serve every day. This year’s turnout was larger than last year with well over a dozen City vehicles including the original 1948 Army surplus Fire Engine that was the first fire truck BHF had. The event showcased the many agencies that serve the residents of Bullhead City including a LIfe Flight Helicopter, the SWAT truck, the 1948 vintage Fire Engine and many more.

Appeals court rejects injunction against SB1260, voter suppression law

PHOENIX – In an upset to a previous ruling by Arizona Federal Judge Murray Snow regarding SB 1260, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected Snow’s injunction and has cleared the way for the bill to be utilized in the upcoming election. 

Snow,  who had stated “Senate Bill 1260 is so poorly written that anyone reading it would not know what is-and is not legal”, adding “it is unconstitutionally too vague to be on the books”, the 9th Circuit last Friday overruled Snows injunction on the 2022 law thus allowing Arizona to enforce voter registration in the Grand Canyon Sate.
