Mohave County Democratic Road Show

MOHAVE COUNTY – Democratic candidates visited three cities on Saturday, August 10 including Lake Havasu, Bullhead City and Kingman to discuss their platforms, meet voters, and answer questions. On Sunday, August 11, they continued on to Mesquite, Nevada and finished in Colorado City, Arizona.

Medrano gets five years for child sex offenses

BULLHEAD CITY – An elderly Bullhead City sex offender offered apology at his Aug. 2 sentencing hearing. Raymond Medrano, 70, previously pleaded guilty to four counts reduced to attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Amanda Claerhout told the Court that Medrano engaged in illegal sexual activity with girls 12 and 16 years of age between Jan. 1, 2023 and early March, 2024.

River level dropping for planned water releases

BULLHEAD CITY – On August 14, the Bureau of Reclamation will temporarily reduce water releases from Davis Dam to approximately 2,200 cubic feet second from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. MST.

River users should exercise extra caution during these times as lower river flows may temporarily expose or create hazards such as sandbars and unstable riverbanks. Floating or submerged debris or other unfamiliar obstacles may also pose potential hazards until the river returns to normal flow release levels.

No arrests in Bullhead shooting death

BULLHEAD CITY – A knife-wielding aggressor was shot and killed during an Aug. 8 confrontation in Bullhead City, according to police. Officers responded at 7:50 p.m. to the 900 block of Seafair Drive where a woman had been shot.

Bullhead City Police Department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Lucindy Gale Parkison, 49, Bullhead City was found dead inside the home.
