Officer cleared in Dec. 29 shooting

KINGMAN – Following the investigation conducted by Lake Havasu City Police Department detectives of the officer-involved shooting that occurred in Kingman on December 29, 2023, Sergeant Kenneth Morris has been released back to full duty. The suspect involved in the incident, 39-year-old Kingman resident Andrew Romero, has been released from Sunrise Hospital and was subsequently arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on a felony warrant for aggravated assault on a police officer. He is awaiting extradition at the Clark County Detention Center.

Jerry Lee Hughes, 83, of Truxton, Arizona went to her heavenly home on October 6, 2023, surrounded by her daughters. Jerry was born to Thurman and Leslie Dobbins on October 26, 1939, in Garfield, New Mexico. Jerry was raised in New Mexico where she met the love of her life Leon and in 1967, they moved to Truxton, Arizona to raise their family.
