Suspicious package incident in Kingman

KINGMAN – On Monday, Nov. 6, at about 9:51 a.m., Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies were notified of a

suspicious package located at the Mohave County Library in Kingman.

During the course of their usual duties, library staff located the package in the book return drop box located outside of the building and notified law enforcement.

The library was evacuated, and the immediate area was closed off for safety concerns. Bomb squad technicians from Kingman Police Department and Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to the scene to remove and investigate the package. Once removed from the drop box, the package was safely

disposed of. The package was not an explosive, but a small box wrapped in duct tape with an empty phone case attached to the box. Once the scene was secured, the library was reopened for public use.
