Still waiting for county Facebook launch

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County still does not have a Facebook page though county manager Sam Elters told the board early last September that it would be launched in a couple of weeks. So, what happened?

“We got overwhelmed with COVID-19, the vaccination campaign and all of these things,” Elters said. He said more time is needed to address questions and concerns regarding how the county will administer its Facebook presence.

Members of the board of supervisors have expressed varying levels of support for the Facebook move and different ideas about whether, and how interaction with the public should be structured.

“We believe we are not far from having a set of guidelines that I believe our board members will support and will approve,” Elters said. “I firmly believe that the board wants it, knows its value and it’s just a matter of completing the project.”
