KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce that Shambaugh & Son broke ground in the Industrial Park on November 15, 2023. Construction is underway for the company’s 72,000 square ft. fabrication facility. Progressive Pipe Fabricators, a division of Shambaugh, will fabricate and deliver over 20,000 individual sprinkler pipes per week. The building will be in the Kingman Industrial Park on Historic Route 66. Shambaugh & Son has been operating since 2021 in an existing building and stated that Kingman was chosen for this project due to Schambaugh’s rapidly expanding operating locations in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. In addition, they stated that Kingman is a perfectly situated community to provide support to each of these growth markets with convenient access to US 93 and I-40. The team at Shambaugh has been working with Todd Mendon of Bulk Industrial Group, LLC, to locate the land needed for this exciting venture. The new facility will bring in seven additional jobs on top of the current 53 employed. There will be a $10,000,000 capital investment with a facility completion date in the summer of 2024.
Chief Operating Officer of National Fire Protection Rob Vincent stated, “By expanding our fabrication capabilities throughout the United States, our new shop in Kingman will now serve a much larger geographic area. Both Kingman Economic Development and Mohave County have been supportive and provided a firm foundation on which we might build upon to enhance the community.”
Todd Mendon of Bulk Industrial Group, LLC said, “Bulk Industrial Group, LLC. or affiliates, owns, manages, and leases over 5,500,000 square feet around the country and currently owns four buildings in the Kingman market, including three in the Kingman Industrial Park. Bulk Industrial has worked closely with the City of Kingman’s economic development team recently and since entering the Kingman market in 2001. Shambaugh & Son has been a great partner in growing their business in the western US, and this commitment is an example of their commitment to Kingman and the long-term opportunities it provides them. Shambaugh & Son located in Kingman in 2021 at which point discussions began in earnest about this larger facility to complement their growth. We are excited to be working with them and FCL Builders, our general contractor on the project, to complete this building on time and budget.”
Bennett Bratley, Kingman Economic Development Director, said, “We are excited Shambaugh & Son decided to build their new facility at the Kingman Industrial Park; their expanded presence here will continue to advance Kingman’s flourishing manufacturing and distribution industries.”
