Road treatments, water project planned for City of Kingman

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman has plenty of upcoming road treatments and waterline/sewer projects that will affect some of the motoring public to adjust their travel accordingly. Between the Kingman Streets and Engineering Departments, some projects will begin work the first week in November.

The Kingman Streets Department will be working on preventative maintenance on some arterial roads such as Stockton Hill Road and Airway Avenue, collector roads like Harrison and Bank Streets.

There are also some water and sewer projects coming up that will affect traffic on portions of Anson Smith Rd., Fairfax Street, Airway Ave., Peterson Rd., Memorial Drive and Khan Dr. The sewer projects mostly lie within the county, but will affect traffic on Thompson Avenue, Jimmie Dr. Northern Ave., David Dr. and Diagonal Way.

“This maintenance will not be what people are imagining of an overlay or mill and fill. We also apply other types of preventative maintenance measures to increase the longevity of these roadways, like crack seals,” Kingman Streets Superintendent Jack Plaunty said.

Up-to-date street closures will be located on the City of Kingman’s engineering website page of interactive Maps through the city’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS): https://www.cityofkingman.gov/government/departments/engineering/gis
