Representative Regina Cobb receives Legislator of the Year Award from Arizona Retailers Association

Representative Regina Cobb

MOHAVE COUNTY – State Representative Regina Cobb was named 2021 Legislator of the Year by the Arizona Retailers Association (ARA) at its annual awards event on Friday, October 15. In announcing its award, the ARA stated:

Representative Cobb was instrumental in the creation and funding of the Organized Retail Theft Taskforce.  This legislation created a taskforce under the office of the Arizona State Attorney General to address the crime of organized retail theft that is plaguing the retail industry and the communities throughout Arizona. By formalizing a designated Taskforce to address this crime, Arizona can take another step toward making consumers, retail employees and our communities a safer place.  The crime of organized retail theft has been linked to nefarious crimes that negatively impact individuals, families, and businesses.

“ARA is very grateful to Representative Cobb for her dedication, perspective and determination to establish a means to address these crimes that impact retailers of every size and that are becoming more violent with far-reaching impacts,” stated Michelle Ahlmer, Executive Director of the Arizona Retailers Association.

“I am honored to receive this distinguished award from the Arizona Retailers Association,” said Representative Regina Cobb.  “Through the last few years our small businesses have had to endure many hardships.  I will continue to advocate for relief of obstacles that make it easier for businesses to succeed.”

Criteria used by the ARA to determine its Legislator of the Year Award include an analysis of votes cast by legislators on retail-related issues, an understanding of the retail industry and its impact on the economy of Arizona.

The ARA is a membership organization representing independently owned retail businesses as well as national chain stores throughout the State of Arizona.

Regina Cobb is a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives serving Legislative District 5, which includes La Paz and Mohave Counties.
