Primary election is Tuesday: Elections Director says ‘We’re ready”

MOHAVE COUNTY – Local candidates have been off and running for some time now.  Tuesday, July 30 is Primary Election Day in Arizona.  The Mohave County Elections Department has been busy with election workers gearing up for the hectic day at the polls.

County Elections Director, Allen Tempert says there’s no such thing as a perfect election.  However, he and his coworkers have done everything possible to insure an efficient, well run day at the polls.  Tempert says “there are 37 polling stations and all of them are properly manned with about 315 well-trained poll workers.  Tempert adds that “we’ve had valuable training sessions and we’re all set to go.”

Tempert says first results are expected to be announced an hour or so after the polls close at 7pm on Tuesday.  It will be a long night as Tempert and his workers complete the results following tabulations by three high-speed digital scan ballot tabulator machines.  He points out that final results on certain high-profile races that are closely contested may not be known for as much as a week.  Final unofficial results could be determined approximately one week after the election, Tuesday, August 6.
