Planet Fitness partners with Arizona Special Olympics for free athlete training

Special Olympians and Planet Fitness staff at the Kingman club.

KINGMAN – Planet Fitness’ Kingman location recently began a partnership with the Arizona Special Olympics Committee to provide free, twice-a-week training sessions for athletes as they prepare for the Special Olympics.

Each week, 5-8 athletes train at the facility with assistance from a Planet Fitness PE@PF trainer and athletes’ supervising guardians. To celebrate the athletes’ hard work and success, representatives from Planet Fitness will attend the Special Olympics Breakfast with Champions Event on November 22.

Special Olympics Arizona provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympians, and the community.
