Pickleball bringing community together

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

The Kingman Pickleball Club (KPC) recently hosted its annual Friendsgiving tournament, Dink into the New Year With Friends, a celebration of sport, community and giving back. The event brought players, families, and supporters together for a weekend filled with friendly competition, connection, and a shared purpose.

This tournament was created not only to enjoy the game of pickleball, but also to strengthen community ties and support charitable causes. Proceeds from the event will be distributed to local charities, with the recipients to be selected by the KPC Charity Committee. This ensures the impact of the tournament stays right here in our community, helping organizations that make a meaningful difference.

The club would like to extend sincere gratitude to our generous sponsors whose support helped make this event possible:

American Pizza, Papa Murphy’s, Charlie’s Pizzeria, Dreams & Rainbows, Jimmy Johns, Kingman Extreme Nutrition, Kingman Fruit Creations, Kingman Regional Medical Center, and In House Cheesecakes.

We are incredibly proud of the collaboration between our players, volunteers, sponsors and organizers. Their time, energy and generosity reflect the heart of the Kingman Pickleball Club and what it stands for: community, charity, and connection through sport.

Events like Dink Into the New Year with Friends remind us that pickleball is more than just a game, it’s a way to bring people together and create positive change.

Mary Lucero Martine

KPC Tournament Director
