Hinson guilty of groping young girls

KINGMAN – A Kingman man who admitted he groped young girls at a residence in the 3800 block of North Evans Street will be going to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Christopher Hinson, 36, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 15 during a Jan. 29 hearing before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle.
Deputy County Attorney Rod Albright said that Hinson admitted touching the 11- and 12-year- old victims when questioned by police.
Defense attorney Paul Amann noted that Hinson apologized for the offenses and felt need to seek help through Southwest Behavioral Health.
Terms of the deal require Judge Carlisle to impose a 2.5-year prison term at a Feb. 27 sentencing hearing. Carlisle will also order that Hinson will be on probation for at least 15 years once released from prison.
