PHOENIX – Bettors in Arizona wagered over $713.5 million on sports in November of 2023, according to a new report by the Arizona Department of Gaming. This represents an approximate 15.7% increase when compared to November of 2022. The state collected approximately $2 million in privilege fees in the month.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Veterans Resource Team is hosting a Stand Down event on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center, 100 Park Ave. Many local veterans’ resource organizations are present to assist with legal aid, housing, resume guidance, employment opportunities and more. This community-based intervention program is designed to help the veterans who are homeless combat life on the streets. Lucas Henderson of Lake Havasu City, a Trine University student, earned Dean’s List recognition for the Spring 2024 semester. Henderson is majoring in Civil Engineering. To earn Dean’s List honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.500-3.749.
Debra Williams of Kingman, AZ passed away on Nov. 6, 2021. She was born on March 31, 1958 in Owensboro, KY, making her 63 years old at the time of her passing. The family contact is her son, Shawn Smith. She will be lovingly missed and remembered. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home in Kingman.
Bullhead City intends to acquire water utility BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City is preparing to go to court to try to take control of the assets of a local water company through eminent domain. The move is founded in voter approval last November for the city to seek acquisition of local EPCOR Water Inc., assets. City Manager Toby Cotter told the City Council March 3 that a valuation effort resulted in a $55-million municipal acquisition offer.
