One arrested in fatal hit-and-run; two others sought

The Department of Public Safety has identified some of the parties involved and provided more information about a hit and run traffic accident that fatally injured a teenager in Fort Mohave. The agency said that Taylor Young, 18, Fort Mohave succumbed to her injuries on March 16, the day after she was struck while trying to cross Highway 95 near Camp Mohave Rd.

DPS spokesman Bart Graves said investigators determined that three drivers left the scene when vehicles they were operating struck Taylor. He said a tip from a citizen led to the March 18 arrest of David Evans at his home in Bullhead City.

Evans, 78, faces prosecution for leaving the scene of an accident involving injury or death. Graves said DPS is looking for additional help and information from the public to identify the other drivers involved.

“The vehicles are described as a red-colored passenger car and a white or light-colored pickup truck,” Graves said. Anyone with information is asked to call DPS, 623-223-2212.
