Avi Resort & Casino wins Taste of Bullhead title fourth year in a row

The Bullhead Area Chamber Ambassadors’ 2019 Taste of Bullhead Fire & Ice annual fundraiser and chamber member appreciation event was held on Saturday, February 23, in the Ball Room at the Avi Resort.

The Taste of Bullhead event includes a friendly local restaurant competition featuring up to 15 restaurants vying for the coveted titles of “Best Appetizer”, “Best Entree”, “Best Dessert” and “Ritziest Booth” judged by the event attendees.

This year’s Best Entrée was won by James Hope and Felix Rodriguez of the Avi Resort & Casino. James Hope has been with the Avi for eight years, while Felix Rodriguez has been at the Avi four years. Combined they have over 50 years of cooking experience. The award this year is the fourth year in a row that the Avi Resort & Casino has won an award at the Taste of Bullhead.

Previous awards were: 2016 Best Appetizer winning dish was for Lobster Bisque; 2017 Best Appetizer winning dish was for Cordon Bleu soup and Ceviche. Last year’s Best Entrée winning dish was Classic Beef Wellington. This year’s Taste of Bullhead Fire & Ice Best Entrée winning dish was a Coffee Crusted Filet Mignon inspired by the fire theme.
