My wife, Lynda, and I just returned from a two-week vacation; a time designated for rest and relaxation. Though we had a great time and saw many things, we came home tired and needed a vacation from our vacation. The reason: we drove 1,800 miles; fighting the wind most of the way. Through the years I have heard many people say, “I came home from vacation more tired than before I went.” As Americans, I suppose that we do try and cram so much into a few days’ time. We want to see and experience all that we can because for most of us, vacation comes just once each year.

Happiness is a choice! You can either choose to be happy, or you can choose to be downcast, discourage or depressed. Life is what you make it. Now, there are many who would disagree, citing chemical imbalances, adverse situations and circumstances as their reason. While these things may be certain in our life, the truth remains that happiness is dependent upon circumstances, but true joy is dependent upon a relationship, for the Lord gives us hope that results in joy. Much emphasis, today, is placed upon education and learning. There are those who believe that a four year from a major college or university is necessary to succeed in life. Though I would never want to dismiss or diminish anyone’s education, we must admit that learning is not restricted to book knowledge. Instead, learning also comes from daily life experiences. If you accidently touch a hot stove and burn your hand, you learn quickly not to do it again. If you drive at an excessive rate of speed, a policeman may ticket you, the court may fine you, and you must suffer the consequences. As a result, you learn to
