Duane served in the United States Air Force for four years and was stationed at Ellington AF base. After his military service, he pursued a career that reflected his passion for sports and recreation. He worked as a skilled carpenter in Las Vegas and later for the city of North Las Vegas in their parks and recreation department. As one of eight children, Maria was a spunky and mischievous child who enjoyed playing outside. She graduated from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1984 Maria joined the United States Army as a Military Police Specialist. She was a patrolman on Fort Gordon. During her time in the service, she met Robert H.
