LAKE HAVASU CITY — Get ready to listen and the new energetic pop tunes from singer songwriter Ivory Layne at this weekend’s First Friday. The former North Carolina resident spent eleven years in Nashville, TN before making a recent move to Lake Havasu. With her musical journey beginning at just the age of 6, Layne says that her family is her biggest support system.
“My family is super musical,” Layne said. “My dad sings and plays piano while my mom writes poetry. I get to involve my family in music like featuring my parents in content or letting my little sister shoot my album cover for my latest single, ‘Roam,’.”
With an EP release that happened on Layne’s final day of high school, it was at that time the singer experienced her very first stage concert at an old movie theater in North Carolina. Since then, Layne has taken part in professional onstage collaborations with Andy Grammer, Andrew McMahon, Ben Rector, and numerous other artists.
In 2025, Layne’s latest concert was a fantasy fulfilled, when she opened for Aly & AJ in Nashville. Today, the vocalist songs can be heard on Apple Music, Spotify, and pretty anywhere music can be streamed. Her tunes can also be accessed by visiting her personal webpage directly at Ivory Layne.
However, it was in 2024 appearing as stowaway singer at Andrew McMahon’s Holiday’s from Real Cruise show, that Layne met Brad Ebert, a volunteer of Lake Havasu’s First Friday. For the vendor fused event, Ebert suggested she do a concert. Now that date is approaching quickly.
Influenced by musicians like Kate Bush, The Killers, and Coldplay, Layne along with her MIDI Controller, the vocalist wing sing full setlist original songs. “I may throw in a few covers and will probably gab between songs,” she revealed. Describing herself as one who is lost in her own continuous brainwaves of music, the upside of it all, is having the ability to connect to audiences through music.
A unique technique that plugs the singer in with her listeners. Ivory’s first concert in Lake Havasu is free to the public and will be taking place on Friday February 6 at 6pm at 2101 McCulloch Blvd. N. Layne is excited for the opportunity at gaining additional exposure in new local music scene, “I enjoy the satisfaction of doing something I believe in, making new friends, experiences, and averseness to throwing in the towel,” Layne explained.
