Mohave Community College welcomes Nicole Bratley to the Board of Governors

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College (soon to be Mohave College) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Bratley as the new District 1 representative on the Board of Governors. Bratley succeeds Candida Hunter, who has served the district with dedication since 2022.  Hunter’s final board meeting representing district 1 was Friday, November 15. Bratley will be sworn in during the January 2025 board meeting.

“On behalf of Mohave Community College, I want to thank Candida Hunter for her wonderful service and the contributions she made during her tenure on the Board,” said MCC President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein. “We are excited to welcome Nicole Bratley, whose experience and vision for Mohave County’s future will be instrumental in helping shape the College’s growth and success.”

Nicole Bratley, currently the Personal Property Appraisal Supervisor for the Mohave County Assessor’s Office, brings a wealth of leadership experience and a deep commitment to community development. Her prior volunteer work, including serving as Vice Chair of the Mohave County Census Complete Count Committee, highlights her dedication to fostering growth and opportunity across the region.

Bratley expressed her enthusiasm for joining the Board, emphasizing her commitment to expanding academic programs in trades, healthcare, and technology. She noted the importance of workforce education in retaining local talent and supporting Mohave County’s economic development.

“Too many of our young people leave Mohave County for educational opportunities and don’t return,” Bratley said. “By expanding programs and projects like the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, we can keep local talent here and attract new students to our region, fostering long-term growth.”

Bratley also advocates for investment in infrastructure improvements, citing the need to update outdated facilities and create spaces that enhance the student experience.

“My vision for MCC is to offer more opportunities tailored to the diverse lifestyles and goals of Mohave County’s citizens,” Bratley said. “By doing so, we can build a skilled workforce that supports economic growth and provides a bright future for our communities.”

As the District 1 representative, Bratley will serve areas including Kingman, Hackberry, Peach Springs, Littlefield, Wikieup, Truxton, Moccasin, and North Canyon. Her focus will include supporting initiatives such as the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center and promoting workforce education programs that align with regional economic needs.

Mohave Community College welcomes Nicole Bratley to the Board and looks forward to her contributions to advancing the institution’s mission of empowering students and communities.
