Mohave Community College partners with KUSD for strategic public relations training

Mohave Community College Corporate Education department facilitator, Ruth Hellams, provided a Public Relations Bootcamp for Kingman Unified School District. Corporate Education provides customized workshops and training to boost employee skills and support organizational success.

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College Corporate Education division partnered with Kingman Unified School District to deliver a customized Public Relations Bootcamp during the district’s 2025 Leadership Summit Wednesday. This collaboration highlights MCC’s commitment to empowering local educators and strengthening community ties through high-impact professional development.

Tailored specifically for KUSD staff, the two-hour workshop equipped participants with foundational public relations skills, strategic communication tools and audience-specific messaging techniques. With public perception playing an increasingly vital role in education, this initiative ensures that KUSD personnel are prepared to serve as effective ambassadors for the district.

“We’re excited to bring our Public Relations Bootcamp to the KUSD leadership team. It’s inspiring to see educators, who are committed to lifelong learning and recognizing the value of continuous training,” said Gina Kremper, Associate Dean of Corporate Education.

Participants engaged in interactive skill-building activities, learned to tailor key messages for stakeholders ranging from parents to media, and gained insight into effective use of internal and external communication tools such as newsletters, social media and crisis messaging.

This partnership represents MCC’s broader mission to support regional institutions with practical, relevant training that promotes both individual growth and organizational excellence.

Corporate Education offers a variety of workshops and customized training solutions that help empower organizations and businesses through tailored professional development courses that enhance employee skills and drive organizational success. To learn more visit, Mohave.edu/corp-ed.
