Minor injuries in PWC collision

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Operators collided personal watercraft (PWC) on Lake Havasu on Wednesday, August 28. Mohave County Sheriff’s office (MCSO) personnel responded to an area near the Island RV Resort after it was reported that injured subjects were in the water at that location.

“Upon arrival, both occupants of the personal watercraft were out of the water and only complaining of minor injuries,” said MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. “It was determined that one PWC was following the other, when the lead PWC slowed down. The PWC following then struck the rear of the lead PWC.”

Mortensen said the operator of the lead PWC was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. She said the other operator was issued a citation.

“Alcohol was not a factor in this incident, however inexperience and inattention were factors,” Mortensen said.
