McDade takes plea in sex offense case

KINGMAN – A Kingman man who admitted committing a sex offense involving a teenage family member was released from custody after entering a plea agreement Friday, June 14. Steven McDade, 43, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse.
The offense reportedly occurred on Jan. 19 at a Kingman residence in the 3000 block of Amanda Circle.
“The defendant uses his sister’s house to crash when he’s drunk,” deputy Mohave County attorney Phillip Delgado told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle. He said the defendant “got creepy” when he entered a bedroom where he climbed into bed with an 18-year-old female whom he groped.
Terms of the plea deal require that McDade be placed on supervised probation. He can also be given up to one year’s jail time at a July 15 sentencing hearing.
