MOHAVE COUNTY — As Dr. Stacy Klippenstein prepares to begin his new role as President of the College of Southern Nevada, Mohave Community College (Mohave College – August 2025) celebrates his visionary leadership and lasting contributions. Since joining the College in 2019, Dr. Klippenstein has guided the institution through a bold era of transformation – expanding academic offerings, accelerating workforce development and forging powerful community connections across northwestern Arizona.
Under Dr. Klippenstein’s leadership, the College solidified its reputation as a regional engine for workforce and economic advancement. He championed the creation of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (AMTC), which opens this fall semester and is set to become northwestern Arizona’s premier workforce accelerator. Based on feedback from community and industry leaders, he also spearheaded the proposed Transportation Technical Training Center (T3C), another project designed to prepare students for in-demand, high-skill careers.
Equally impactful was his commitment to building strong, sustainable partnerships across the region. Dr. Klippenstein launched the successful development of the college’s Beale Street Center in downtown Kingman. It is also now home to the Kingman Chamber of Commerce – a perfect symbol for the College’s deepening roots and shared vision with the business community. From education to economic development, he actively cultivated relationships with regional business, industry, nonprofit, and government leaders, positioning the College as a trusted partner and catalyst for regional progress.
Dr. Klippenstein led the approval and development of new bachelor’s degree programs in Elementary Education, Biology, and Human Services, set to launch as early as Spring 2026 pending Higher Learning Commission approval. He also elevated the reach and visibility of Corporate and Community Education, expanding access to noncredit learning opportunities for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
His tenure was marked by vision and resilience – guiding the College through the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing early college initiatives, and helping the College earn federal designation as an Hispanic-Serving Institution. Under his leadership, the College achieved consistent enrollment growth and increased student engagement.
Dr. Klippenstein also oversaw an historic evolution of the institution, including the introduction of student housing, the launch of college athletics, and a bold, future-focused rebranding to Mohave College, a name that better aligns with its expanding programs and services.
A tireless advocate for students, communities and economic mobility, Dr. Klippenstein has left an indelible mark on the College. His collaborative leadership, strategic vision and deep belief in the transformative power of higher education will continue to shape the institution long after his departure.
As he hands the reins to Dr. Tim Culver, who will serve as Interim President, the transition is grounded in continuity and shared purpose. Dr. Culver will help lead the College through this next chapter as the Board of Governors conducts a national search for Mohave College’s next president, who is expected to begin July 1, 2026, and Dr. Culver will be a steady hand to help with the transition.
This moment reflects not only deep appreciation for Dr. Klippenstein’s service, but excitement for the future under a continued commitment to innovation, student success and community partnerships.
