KINGMAN – The Mohave County Homeless Continuum of Care (COC) held an emergency meeting to address the housing needs of individuals that were evicted from the Arcadia Lodge on Thursday, March 20. The hotel was declared uninhabitable by the City of Kingman when they were informed that the hotel was without power.
Continuum of Care Chair Kelly Williams-Greer organized the meeting to bring together various individuals and community organizations to provide relieve to those affected. The meeting was a solutions-oriented call to action, which brought together charities, non-profits, local businesses, and other members of the community.

Kingman Cares is providing 19 rooms for 28 individuals at the Rodeway Inn for a total cost of $1,081 per night. Before the meeting began, Williams-Greer stressed the need for additional donations to at least pay for an additional night. On Monday morning March 24, she plans to meet with those affected at the Rodeway Inn to address further needs.
During the meeting, City of Kingman Development Services Director Jason Moquin donated $500 on behalf of Lotus Bookkeeping. Arizona Complete Health then donated the remaining $581, as well as enough for an additional day. Arizona Youth Partnership also offered temporary housing for a 19-year-old with a 2-year old baby. There was also a veteran that was assisted by the Jerry Ambrose Veteran Center, with the help of Catholic Charities.
Many local charities and nonprofits have offered assistance and were present at the meeting. The Kingman Food Bank provided 42 food boxes, which each last up to one week per person.
Feral Cat Warriors is offering assistance with fostering cats, and Risen Star Kennels in Bullhead City has offered to foster pets as well. Mohave County Animal Shelter also offered to assist with animals.
Catholic Charities provided transportation assistance from the Arcadia Lodge to the Rodeway Inn. Catholic Charities and Cornerstone Mission Thrift Store are offering to help with basic needs such as clothing and essentials.
Mental health and substance abuse services have been offered by Set Free Ministries, Hickory Treatment Center, and Rivyve Behavioral Health.
