Manseau gets life for sex offenses

KINGMAN – A Kingman man convicted of sex offenses involving a girl under the age of 12 between 2015-2021 will never gain freedom, absent success in any appeal in his case.

Harsh mandatory punishment under Arizona law was imposed during the Jan. 6 sentencing hearing for Bradley Manseau, 34, at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center.

A Superior Court jury found Manseau guilty in early Dec. of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and another charge of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

“I was a happy-go-lucky girl,” the victim told Judge Derek Carlisle. She said Manseau robbed her of her childhood, destroyed her trust in people and pushed her downward spiral to self-harm and cutting.

Public Defender Paul Amann argued mandatory sentencing requirements imposed on the Courts through approved legislation requires judges to order “cruel and unusual” punishment. Deputy county attorney Amanda Claerhout countered that Manseau deserves three stacked life sentences, followed by 20 years more in prison.

“This is a defendant who has a sexual appetite for children,” Claerhout said. “This defendant will not stop. A harsh sentence is all that’s left for him.”

Manseau declined opportunity to address the Court.

Judge Carlisle imposed one life sentence followed by consecutive sentences of 20, 20 and 10 years more in prison for the four convictions.
