Main pleads guilty after biting officer

BULLHEAD CITY – A man arrested after scuffling with police officers in Bullhead City last month pleads guilty in Mohave County Superior Court on April 24. Scott Main, 53, pleaded guilty to prohibited possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.

Police department public information officer Emily Fromelt said Main had been staying in the Catholic Charities Community Services Shelter on N. Oatman Road when officers contacted him regarding sex offender registration failures on March 29.

“When he was placed under arrest, he dropped to the ground, resisting and screaming and kicking at officers,” Fromelt said. “One officer was hit in her face when he was flailing his arms and he bit her on her thumb.”

Officers reportedly located a stolen firearm in his backpack.

Main is eligible for probation under terms of the plea deal, but he can also get up to 2.5-years in prison when sentenced May 21 by Judge Ryan Esplin.
