KINGMAN – Last year, the Kingman Mohave Lions Club held its annual 50/50 Golf Ball Drop, March 14, 2019 at Centennial Park. A crane and crew were provided by Unisource, dropping thousands of golf balls on a baseball diamond in the park. The ball which landed closest to the target stake located at the center of the drop zone was certified as the prize winner by Judge Dave Huerta
This year’s winning ticket was purchased by local dentist, Susan Haynes, of Lets CU Smile Dentistry, whose total winnings came to $2777.50. This business was also one of this year’s corporate sponsors.
The Lions Club annual Golf Ball Drop raises money for the Kingman Mohave Lions Club’s charitable projects. These include a global initiative for health and wellness that provides free access to basic health screenings. Locally, the club provides several free health screening clinics in the Kingman area each year. Other Lions Club projects include providing free eyeglasses and exams to Kingman area children and adults in need, college scholarships for high school seniors, and sponsoring local children with visual or other special needs to attend the Lions Camp Tatiyee located in Pinetop, Arizona.

Many local businesses and individuals helped sponsor the event,. In total, 43, businesses and individuals contributed at the Sponsor Level by purchasing $100 or more in tickets.
Other individuals who donated their time and services included Unisource, Judge Dave Huerta, Michael’s Drone Photography, Merten’s Heavy Equipment and Repair, the City of Kingman Parks & Recreation, and the Kingman Daily Miner.
