LAKE HAVASU CITY – On October 31, at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department (LHCPD) responded to a three-vehicle collision on SR 95 at mile post 186.3.
According to a LHCPD press releasee, a Cadillac Deville driven by Charles Ostergaard, 36, Lake Havasu City, was traveling northbound on SR 95 when he crossed the center median and collided head-on with a Ford F-150, which was traveling southbound. A GMC Sierra, which was also traveling southbound, was struck by the Cadillac Deville after the initial collision.
As a result of the accident, Ostergaard, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. Three occupants of the Ford F-150 were transported from the scene to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the GMC Sierra suffered minor injuries and was also transported to a local hospital for observation.
The accident remains under investigation and there is no indication that speed or impairment were factors in the collision.
