LHC Airport Runway Seal Coat Project in final phase

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City announces the completion of the first phase of the Runway and Taxiway Seal Coat and Striping Project at the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport. The runway and all taxiways are now fully open. The City appreciates the public’s cooperation and patience throughout this phase of the project.

The second and final phase of the project, consisting of the final application of runway and taxiway striping, is scheduled to begin at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and continue through 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, weather permitting. As part of this phase, the runway is temporarily closed for at least 24 hours, beginning at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, and is anticipated to reopen at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12. Updated messaging is sent out to confirm the reopening is on schedule or delayed. Following the reopening of the runway, airport operations resume; however, taxiway access remains limited while final striping work is completed.

All work is dependent on favorable weather conditions, and schedules may be adjusted if necessary. Lake Havasu City appreciates the continued patience and cooperation of airport users and the public as this important pavement preservation project is completed.
