Leadership excellence academy celebrates graduation of Bullhead City cohort

Graduates of the Bullhead City Leadership Excellence Academy 1.0 celebrate the completion of the program and their achievements throughout the year.

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave College Corporate Education, in partnership with the City of Bullhead City, proudly celebrates the graduation of participants from the Bullhead City Leadership Excellence Academy 1.0, a 12-month, cohort-based leadership development program designed to strengthen the City’s workforce and future leadership.

Corporate Education programs are designed to be flexible and responsive, allowing training to be tailored to meet the specific needs of employers. Through this approach, the academy was customized to align with the City’s goals and workforce priorities, ensuring the content directly supported organizational objectives and long-term success.

Corporate Education courses also provide participants with practical, hands-on learning experiences that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Over the course of the year, participants engaged in 26 bi-weekly workshops covering key leadership topics, supported by a comprehensive curriculum and expert facilitators. They applied their learning in real time through capstone projects focused on improving City operations, creating measurable impact while strengthening collaboration and building a strong internal network of future leaders.

The cohort included a select group of current, and emerging supervisors and managers from across multiple City departments. It was intentionally diverse, encouraging cross-functional collaboration, broadening perspectives and building a strong internal network of future leaders.

The program concluded with a formal graduation and recognition event, where participants presented their capstone projects, and were recognized for their achievements and contributions. The event highlighted the City’s commitment to investing in its workforce, and celebrating the growth and accomplishments of its employees.

“Bullhead City’s Leadership Excellence Academy 1.0 represents a strong investment in our employees, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to better serve our community. Through a year-long partnership with Mohave College, participants engaged in hands-on training and capstone projects that are already improving operational effectiveness and strengthening our internal leadership pipeline. Just as importantly, the program has supported professional development and built stronger relationships across departments, creating a more collaborative and prepared organization for the future,” said Assistant City Manager Travis Pruitt.

The College congratulates all graduates on their achievement and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the city to support leadership development and workforce excellence.
