Law enforcement officers across the state are lighting the way for Special Olympics

Bullhead City police officers will carry the “Flame of Hope” through Bullhead City Wednesday, to help raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics Arizona.

Citizens are encouraged to join them at the Torch Reception breakfast at Community Park. The event will honor local Special Olympics athletes and special needs children.  Visit the Firehouse ambulance and enjoy a variety of coffees and Tisane iced tea.  Enjoy entertainment by co-host of the Knack Morning Show, DJ Loke Lau, games and food for a small donation.  All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Arizona.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), will start at La Puerta Road on Highway 68 with the “Flame of Hope” torch “hand off” from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

When the torch reaches the Colorado River, it will be carried downstream from Davis Camp by officers and community members on kayaks (weather permitting) thanks to a fundraising partnership with Desert River Kayak.  The torch will be displayed for photos at the torch reception until it’s 8:30 a.m. departure from Community Park.  Officers will continue running through the city to the “hand off” location at the south city limits on Highway 95 where Arizona Department of Public Safety will continue the torch’s journey throughout the nation!

Please join Bullhead City Police Department, Bullhead City Fire Department, Bullhead City Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Mohave County Search & Rescue, and other local agencies.  Visit with the first responders and view their vehicles that will be on display along will the Desert Lawn fire truck on Wednesday, April 10, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Bullhead Community Park, 1251 Highway 95 under the big Ramada.
