LAKE HAVASU CITY – An alleged drug dealer from Lake Havasu City was sentenced Thursday after entering a plea agreement at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman. Judge Billy Sipe imposed the five-year prison sentence mandated in the plea deal for James Krantz, 46.
Lake Havasu City police previously reported that an investigation of illegal drug sales within the community led to a Sept. 19 traffic stop of the vehicle Krantz was operating in the 2100 block of McCulloch Boulevard.
“During the stop a K/9 unit responded and alerted,” deputy Mohave County attorney Rod Albright said. “So, a search was conducted and in the search officers seized approximately 11,000 fentanyl pills.”
Albright said the pills were contained within a glass jar and concealed under the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
“This involves a very large amount of fentanyl pills,” Judge Sipe said.
Krantz is convicted of possession of narcotic drugs for sale. A methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia charge were dismissed.
