Kingman invited to observe International Day of Peace on Sunday

KINGMAN — Mohave County is invited to observe the International Day of Peace (IDOP) at Locomotive Park in downtown Kingman on Sunday, September 21. The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon and is free and open to the public. The event is nonpartisan.

IDOP was first designated in 1982 by the United Nations and is celebrated worldwide annually on the 21st of September.

The event in Kingman will include family activities like rock and face painting, bean bag toss, making of peace flags and discussions of peace. The event will end at noon with a ringing of the bell and a moment of silence to contemplate a peaceful world. Those that cannot attend are invited to pause at noon, wherever they are, for a moment of quiet contemplation of world peace.
