Jason Lyle Black, The Importance of Being Earnest at BST

KINGMAN – The Beale Street Theater will present The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde’s beloved comedic masterpiece, directed by Kathy Scroggins, and acclaimed pianist Jason Lyle Black. Jason Lyle Black will appear for one night only on Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25, $20, and $15. The Importance of Being Earnest will play for two weekends, at 7 p.m. on May 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16; and also 1 p.m. on May 9 and 16. Tickets are $35, $25, and $15; teens are $15; kids are $10 and $5.

The Importance of Being Earnest

Audiences are invited to enjoy this witty and charming production. Oscar Wilde’s classic is a delight from the first cucumber sandwich on, as Jack’s carefully constructed double life begins to unravel in the most amusing ways. When his friend Algernon becomes entangled in the deception, the result is a whirlwind of mistaken identities, social satire, and sparkling dialogue that has delighted audiences for generations.

The problems are resolved in an extremely charming and quite unexpected way as Jack and Algernon discover the importance of being earnest while answering to the name of Ernest. Filled with Wilde’s trademark wit, playful romance, and laugh-out-loud moments, this timeless comedy remains one of the most celebrated plays in theatrical history. Under the direction of Kathy Scroggins, this lively production brings Wilde’s brilliant characters and clever storytelling to life on the Beale Street Theater stage, promising an evening of elegance, humor, and delightful theatrical mischief.
