I-40 Rancho Santa Fe Parkway project on hold

KINGMAN – The Arizona Department of Transportation indicates that the Interstate 40 Rancho Santa Fe Parkway project “is on hold.” The project that includes development of a multi-million-dollar interchange with arterials leading north to the Kingman Airport and South to Hualapai Mountain Road had been scheduled to be put out for construction bids on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

The agency confirmed Tuesday morning that it awaits information from the City of Kingman before the project can advance.

“ADOT is administering this project on behalf of the City of Kingman,” an ADOT statement said. “We are currently awaiting their direction on funding and a schedule for this project.”

The news was unexpected for Kingman Mayor Jen Miles. She said that it has been expected that the final development agreement will be approved, and Miles indicated she thought the project was tracking forward and unimpeded.
