KINGMAN – A ten-year prison term was ordered Wednesday, April 15, for a Lake Havasu City man who has been convicted in five different criminal cases in the last nine years. Judge Billy Sipe imposed the harshest punishment possible under terms of the plea agreement entered for George Touchkov, 38.
Touchkov’s latest law enforcement contact came during a traffic stop last November. Touchkov reportedly admitted involvement in the sale of methamphetamine and heroin when questioned by officers.
Legal Defender Ron Gilleo said Touchkov’s guilty plea to possession of dangerous drugs for sale involved less than an ounce of methamphetamine last August. Gilleo said his client’s admissions and cooperation helped the state prove its case against him.
Judge Sipe found that Touchkov’s admissions also result in his violation of probation for a drug conviction in a 2018 case. Sipe noted that Touchkov was convicted of burglary in 2011 and of possession of a controlled substance in 2013 and 2014.
Touchkov told the Court that going to prison breaks his heart because others rely on him for support. He also indicated that this might be his last chance to turn his life around.
