GV man arrested for multiple assault charges

GOLDEN VALLEY – An allegedly combative Golden Valley man was eventually arrested after Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to a domestic violence incident reported in the 7200 block Of Zuni Dr. at 6:23 a.m. on Oct. 11.

“Deputies were advise that the victim had left the residence, but after making contact, observed her to have injuries consistent with the alleged assault,” said agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. She said Samuel Beck, 32, denied harming the woman, and pushed a deputy in a struggle that ensued when he was informed he was being placed in custody.

Beck reportedly retreated from the porch and withdrew inside the home where two children had been sleeping.

“Deputies were able to convince Beck to release the two children safely from inside the home,” Mortensen said. “Once the children were away from the residence, Beck fled the scene on foot into the neighboring desert.”

A short foot pursuit reportedly led to his detention and arrest in a wash near the property.

Mortensen said Beck is a prohibited possessor due to previous felony convictions and that seven “various types of guns” and a large box of ammunition were seized on the property. She said he was transported and booked into the Adult Detention Facility for two aggravated assault charges related to the woman and a deputy, resisting arrest and a weapons offense for prohibited possession.
