Godoy gets three years in drugs-for-sale case

KINGMAN – A three-year prison term has been ordered in a Bullhead City man’s drug case. The punishment imposed June 5 for Rogelio Godoy, 43, was mandated in a plea agreement convicting him of a charge reduced to solicitation to possession of narcotic drugs for sale.

“The defendant clearly won the negotiations in this case,” Judge Billy Sipe said of the plea deal and outcome.

The conviction involves the Aug. 2025 seizure of about 1,000 blue fentanyl pills from a residence at 1095 Holly Street. Godoy was arrested when police searched the residence the day after a homicide was committed there.

Andrea Kristy, 58, was fatally wounded when shot Aug. 20 at the Holly Street residence.

“The victim that died was involved in selling drugs,” Jaimye Ashley, Godoy’s lawyer, told the court.

Ashley said that Godoy stayed at the “flop house” for five days while his vehicle was being repaired. She said Godoy was aware, but not involved in drug dealing activity within that residence.

Ashley noted that the murder case against Tyler Nelson, 22, Fort Mohave, was dismissed.
