General Surgeon Dr. Floyd R. Wilks Jr. joins HRMC

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Havasu Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Floyd R. Wilks Jr., MD, to its surgical team. Dr. Wilks brings exceptional training and extensive experience in general surgery, trauma care, and advanced surgical techniques to better serve patients throughout the region.

Dr. Wilks completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he gained comprehensive experience with over 1,200 surgical cases. His training encompasses a full spectrum of procedures, from routine general surgery operations to complex cases utilizing laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic, and other minimally invasive techniques.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Wilks to our surgical team,” said Richard Bergman, Chief Operating Officer at Havasu Regional Medical Center. “His extensive training, research background, and commitment to exceptional patient care align perfectly with our mission to provide world-class healthcare to our community.”

Dr. Wilks earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Chemistry from Duke University.

“I’m excited to join the talented team at Havasu Regional Medical Center and contribute to providing exceptional surgical care to this community,” said Dr. Wilks. “I look forward to utilizing my training in both traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques to serve patients and their families during their most critical moments.”

Dr. Wilks is an active member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Society of Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS), and the American Hernia Society (AHS).

Beyond his clinical expertise, Dr. Wilks has demonstrated strong leadership throughout his career, having served as Co-President of the Howard University College of Medicine Surgical Interest Society and President of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s Kappa Omicron Chapter at Duke University.

Dr. Wilks will begin seeing patients at Havasu Regional Medical Center effective [Date]. He will provide comprehensive general surgery services, including emergency trauma care, complex abdominal procedures, and minimally invasive surgical options.
