Fireworks and DUI detail for Independence Day

With Independence Day fast approaching, the Lake Havasu City Police Department reminds the public to be safe, obey local laws when it comes to fireworks, celebrate responsibly, and arrange for a designated driver.

The use, discharge, or ignition of permissible consumer fireworks within the city is allowed from June 24 through July 6 and December 24 through January 3 of each year, except when a federal or state agency implements fire restrictions on these dates.

DUI enforcement details are being conducted from Wednesday, July 3 through Sunday, July 7, 2019. Funding for this effort is provided by a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Public Information Officer: Detective Chris Angus (928) 855-1171.
