MOHAVE COUNTY – Eight Mohave Community College students have been selected as the 2024 All-Arizona Academic Team. The College would like to congratulate Tenny McWilliams (Bullhead City Campus); Jennifer Schaefle (Bullhead City Campus); Samantha Covey (Bullhead City Campus); Kevin Gauthun (Lake Havasu Campus); Ashley Teodosio (Lake Havasu Campus); Fiona Pedi (Kingman Campus); Mandie Price (Kingman Campus) and Alisa Hammon (North Mohave Campus).

McWilliams is not only a student, but an MCC employee as well. She is the Student Success Coach on the Bullhead Campus. In 2022, she won the MCC Ellen Licari Service to Students Award for going above and beyond in making sure students are successful in their college journey.

“Winning this award brings me gratitude, pride and financial relief because it shows all of my hard work has finally paid off,” said McWilliams, who along with other university-bound team members will receive a scholarship that covers tuition. “I’m so honored to represent MCC in the All-Arizona Academic Team and grateful for everyone who believed in and supported me.”

In August, Schaefle and Gauthun were presented the 2023 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar award and received a $1,000 scholarship. Gauthun is working toward a degree in Computer Science and Jennifer is working on her Liberal Arts degree.

All-Arizona Academic Team members apply for either the University Transfer or the Workforce Pathway team categories.

Transfer team members receive a full tuition scholarship to any public university in Arizona after they graduate MCC. The scholarship covers tuition for 10 consecutive undergraduate semesters, or 60 credits for the fall and spring semesters.

Students who are selected to represent MCC on the Workforce Pathway team may be considered for scholarships to obtain necessary career certifications, purchase tools or other industry-related items required to help start a successful career.

Those interested in learning more about the All-Arizona Academic team application and selection process should contact their campus dean of student and community engagement.

For those interested in becoming a college student, MCC is now enrolling for the 2024 Spring and Summer semesters. Spring classes begin January 8 and Summer classes begin May 28. Apply for free at Apply.Mohave.edu. To learn more about MCC’s degree and certificate, as well as non-credit offerings, visit Mohave.edu/areas-of-interest.
