Dyer to receive prison time for armed robbery

Misty Dyer

A Bullhead City woman who robbed a man she met at a Laughlin casino has entered a plea agreement that requires a six year prison term. An unrelated organized retail theft case is dismissed in the deal convicting 33-year-old Misty Dyer of armed robbery.

Prosecutor Jeff Haws said Dyer and the victim spent a good part of the day together at the casino on November 25 of last year. He said she told him she had broken up with her boyfriend and that she needed a place to stay.

Haws said they left the casino and ended up at the victim’s studio apartment in the 400 block of River Glenn Drive. He said the apartment was configured so that you had to cross through a closet to use the bathroom and that Dyer discovered a revolver in the closet as she did so.

Haws said Dyer pointed the weapon at the man, said “Bang” and demanded that he hand over any money he had. He said Dyer fled with about $100 of the victim’s money and that responding police officers found her down the road from the apartment hiding between parked vehicles.

Sentencing before Judge Billy Sipe is scheduled July 11.
